HIN Plate replacement.

HIN Plate replacement.
My Vulture does not have the HIN plate in it anymore and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to get a replacement. The HIN is still easily readable on the transom and also its on the title so I have no problems there. I would just really like to have the HIN plate to mount inside the boat before it hits the water next spring.

Good luck. I got one for my 1979 Ranger thru Ranger in AK took some doing but I got it. Another horror fl marine police story and the assholes in fl.

I've seen where people have had the USCG issue them a new plate. May not be what you are thinking, but just another option.

Well after some advice from someone on S&F I have decided that all I need is a good picture of a USCG plate from a Vulture (for the max weight and hp rating) then I am going to make one from vinyl. Hopefully I can find one today so I can cut it asap and see how it comes out.

I would still ask John 1st! But that is a good idea, I forgot ya know someone in the biz! 
The one for my 79 Ranger is a plastic rivit on.
Your state or CG may mail you one. The only one I ever had, I screwed it to wood where it could be seen.

Hippie it is not required in MN on anything older than 1984.

Keep in mind that, if I'm not mistaken, it isn't required on any hull 20' and over...so you're good 2 go.

If I were you I would check with all the water police where you boat and the Coast Guard if they are where you boat.

Thats what im going to do, Mine wasn't on the Vandal when I got it. I am going to get a pic of one then make a Vinyl one.
