New here!
Hello,
My name is lyle and I am a boat enthusiast. I have a Pre Hydrostream that I found years ago. When I joined an antique outboard club, someone asked me what I had. I showed a picture of the boat and thats when it all started.
Way back, Howard Pipkorn and the original builder from Hustler were talking. (Note the emblem below). Howard and his guys took the Switzer Shooting Star and made their molds similar to that hull (for air entrapment). They then tried racing this new boat and found that it did not corner very well, so went on to build V hulls. From there the rest is history that is well known about Hydrostreams.
There were about 21 boats made of this style, I have one and I have heard of one located down south.
I look forward to being a part of this boating community.

Re: New here!
I remember this boat from somewhere. How long have you owned this boat and where are you from? Something is oddly familiar about it like I have talked to the owner or talked to someone about it at one time. This is going to bug me now. lol
And welcome! Thats a great piece of history you have there and I would love to have that. I had (My dad I should say) had a late 60's Hustler Wildcat factory comp boat with an old 850 Merc inline 6 that would get close to maybe 50ish and that was with the motor set way to deep and zero set up.

Hey, I'm glad to hear of your interest in the Hustler. I've owned it for about 6 yrs. If it seems familiar to you, there was a discussion about it last year that posted on Hydrostream Forum by another member.

Re: New here!
That was me that spoke to you on the phone a while back. Welcome to the forum. That's a GREAT piece of Stream (Hustler) history. I tried to find the thread that involved your boat but couldn't. As I recall, the thread started due to a Craigslist Ad. Maybe Hippie or someone better at searching the site can find that thread
Welcome, what took so long.

Re: New here!
Surface, I think you are correct but I cant remember off hand. I will have to look for it when I get home from work.
I love the boat though.
I see your from Chisago Lakes area. I am just over by St. Francis. Not to far away at all from me. I would love to check that thing out some time.
I love the boat though.
