I am looking at purchasing this boat but it is a distance away and am wodering what the model is. The seller started college and the boat and papers are 250 miles away and he hasn't had it long and doesn't remember the model and year. I just know it is 17' 6" and it is not a Viper since I had one of those. Don't know the year either. Can anyone help me ID it??
Thanks
The seller is going tomorrow to bring it down for me to see and try out. He says the transom is in good shape no cracks etc. The interior has been redone and the carbs gone through on the motor and impellor for the water pump replaced. He is asking 2900
Just cause there are no visible cracks doesnt mean its wet and in need of replacing. I can almost bet it will need the core, transom replaced unless it has been kept inside and never seen water. Unless they have been replaced I can put money on it they will need to be replaced. Just a way of life if you own/looking to buy a stream.
Good price with a motor though. Even if it needs a resto job its worth it if you ask me. What motor is it?
What kind of money do you think it will take to do what you are talking about?? Just a ballpark figure.

Looks like a v king. The deck attaches to the side boxes buy the front seats. Hard call on the condition of the core, stringers ans transom. Have him knock off $1000 at least if un sure. By the way Welcome!
Rick.
Take the plastic handle end of a screwdriver and tap on the pad and around on the bottom. It should sound like a solid "thwack" and not like your thumping on a melon at the grocery store. At the end of the pad around the drain plug area is a good place to start.
