Lower unit ?'s
Lower unit ?'s
Hey guys, from what I can see who ever put my lower unit on did a horrible job on the putty end. I want to sand it down and make it smooth. What type of putty or bondo type stuff do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance

Re: Lower unit ?'s
Duraglass is pretty much industry standard, has short strands of fiberglass in it for strength, Bondo type products are just powder, and don't hold up well. Grind off all the old stuff, rough up the case with 36 grit, and sling away. You'll probably need some putty to smooth it out for the final product before priming and painting.

Good deal thank you. Turns out I can get that stuff through work for $38 a gallon.

Evercoat polyester glazing putty should be fine.
