Witch hammer recore begins
And so it begins. After some investigation I found my 1983 vector the witchammer needs a recore! I have about 3 hours into it since I took the floor out. With me and me dad putting our heads together we found a technique that by myself have the core out up to the dash. Granted I still have to cut the float boxes out and get to that it hasn't been two extremely bad!

Re: Witch hammer recore begins
Welcome, You will need a coupe of posts first but lets see some picture as soon as you can post. I'm betting the hours count will go way up. I put over 1000 hours in the Vulture making it not a great resale option. I do it for the love of Hydrostream. Feel the passion and pain or stop now and re-think. IMO Bill

Re: Witch hammer recore begins
So I stripped the core to the stringer that runs lengthwise with the boat. The core went up to it and if you look in it it appears to be just fiberglass. Like there is no core or anything. Is that normal. Can I just leave it and recore up to that or should I remove it. I would like to leave it if possible.

Re: Witch hammer recore begins
I got this boat from RUT a while back. The core appeared to be solid sounded solid. I redid the floor under the splash well cuz I ripped the battery mount out and it was rotten I decided to test the core in the back while I was at it and it was wet and just starting to rot. So it looked and sounded good with the tap test but not cut open. I was looking online a saw that viper that blew apart and I got married a month ago I wanted to check before I got the wide in the boat. But I'm glad I checked it. Elbow grease and a project is better then a hospital bed!

Also right now I have a 70's Johnson 135 with the bubble back. What type of speed would I get with that or should I try selling it and finding 150 or bigger
