Redoing lower unit ?'s

Ive got a 225 looper that someone put what looks to be a bobs lower unit with low water pickup on it. However whoever installed it did a horrible with smoothing out the nose cone with putty. I was wondering if anyone could post some pics of theirs with some tips so I have something to go off of? Thanks guys
