Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

I know this isn't the right forum, and I have posted this in the "Fiberglass and Composites Discussion" forum, but just wanted to know if anyone had used this for re-coring ? I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or used SphereCore SBC? http://www.carbon-core.com/spheretex-sp ... re-SBC....

SphereTex SBC Core Materials - 1977 Ventura II Core

I am almost ready to start replacing my core, and have a few questions about what material i should use. Balsa would be the obvious solution. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or used SphereCore SBC? http://www.carbon-core.com/spheretex-sphere-core-SBC.htm - Link to site https://www.youtube.co...

Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

Almost done with core, I left the front part in so I could have more support while taking out the steering wheel, cables (going to hydraulic steering), and gauges. Now I only have the front 1/3 of the core to remove. After removing the core, I should be ready to get some work done. I found somewhere...

Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

Getting started on removing core. I have a 2"X10"X10' setup under the pad, and the trailer seems to be holding things together fine, I am wondering if i need any additional support when i start getting more of the core removed?

Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

Well, I'm about done with the floor, just have some minor cleanup around the edges. I have not seen any detailed pics of a Ventura core removed, is it just the stringers and the space between them, or does it extend outside of the stingers? I guess i will take your advice regarding removing the core...

Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

Cool, post a pic.. I am going to put some hrs into the boat this weekend.. I am trying to finish removing floor, before I start with the build back. I have a few quotes with local fiberglass shops and will probably let them replace transom, and install floor.. I am fixing to order the balsa wood for...

Haven't updated status lately, so here are some pics. Making my way to the front, found more wet balsa.

Re: 76 Hydrostream Ventura II SE - Restore Project

continue to make some progress... I found that if you cut square grids.. the floor comes up easier.. especially when its not rotten flooring.. Next step is to take out some of the rear flooring and transom. Also, got some new rims and tires...
