John owns hydrostream canada and does top notch work on restorations and repairs from what I have been told. I have talked to him on the phone about some rub rail options at one time and if was a great person to deal with. He is spendy from what I hear but with him its the whole you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, I would let him do the work if you dont want to do it.

I gave John from HydroStream Canada a call this morning and he definitely sounds like he'd be a great guy to deal with. We must have talked about my options for a good half hour at least. I was ready to hook the boat up to my truck and head out there right away. He's booked pretty solid right now though, and hoping to squeeze in some vacation time, so it looks like I'll have to hold out until the end of August or early September. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that I'll let him him do the job instead of tackling it myself. Gonna leave it to the pros. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. For now anyway...September feels like an eternity away.
Quoted $3230...saw your quote Hippie and I was sweating. Business has great reputation with Hydros.
I am running a YT and stern center, "pad" is broken somewhere Probably less than a V, everything else is solid...but time will tell.
Skurz, if it doesn't work out up there let me know. I can probably get you a quote.
Like I said, I've got some time to look around, so I would appreciate it if you could get me that quote. Money talks.
$3230.00 is what you were quoted for the work you need done?
Ok, latest update. I've got a buddy who can fix anything, and he offered to help me out with the V King rebuild. Starting next week, the project begins and I've gotta say that I'm really looking forward to it. So all you guys who've been down that road before, I'll probably be looking to you for some advice...and more importantly, some inspiration.

Sorry for the delayed response, vacation etc. It sounds like your good to go, but I may be able to get approximate quote w/ pictures if still interested?

It appears that my repair will be covered by my insurance...still waiting on final answer. Worth checking though.
Thanks Jeff. No problem with the delay, I just got back from vacation myself. Hope you had a good one. I appreciate you sharing that estimate with me. It's obviously the labor that's the killer. That would be great if your insurance would foot that bill.
