Hydrostream viper- how would it run with 8" setback

Post: # 23007Post actmobmar »

I'm in the process of putting a 12" mid on it, and the trim ram lines up perfectly with the drain hole in the splashwell. So I have 2 options, cut the transom down or use an 8" jackplate and mount the ram in the jackplate. I will be using a t2x (inline) power head and a v6 power head, along with a coned in line case and a sport master. Thanks!

I ran 3.5 on mine. I tried 6in but it was way to outta control. Mikes loves the 6in. He tried less and boat didnt like it. 8 might be to much on alittle boat depending on hp and speeds. Faster the boat closer to the transome you want it.

I had a 5 1/2" jackplate with a 2.5L 200 and it was perfect with a passenger. Running solo would get really flighty.
