how do i know if i need a recore floor is soft

If it hasn't been done id bet there's a 99% chance it needs done. Or you can cut an access hole in the rear floor near the pad and have some one who knows what their looking at inspect it. From pictures I've seen when hulls delaminate it doesn't look pretty.

I look at the emblem. If it says Hydrostream, it needs a core

Since you have a floor issue any way, go ahead and remove it. The core will be easy to diagnose now. Black is rotten. Best of luck.

thank you all i know im probly b n overly optomistic but i really hope it doesnt unfortunately i havnt bn off wrk long e nuf to even get started on take n the int. n floor out . y do sum go balsa aside from cost wouldnt sum kind of composite b so much better. also any opinions on either try n to get 225 hp out of an older merc 175 or a straight rebuild on a 235 omc.
