Hoping to find an aftermarket regulator for my xri. Factory one is expensive and apparently unreliable. I have found a used aftermarket one (sorry, can't remember the brand), but I need to change the stator to use it. He's willing to sell me the whole powerhead (2 cylinders melted) for 500 bucks, I was just wondering if there were any more options out there.

A powerhead with electronics is worth $500 if you ask me. Otherwise you could go with CDI http://www.cdielectronics.com/ or Siara http://ww2.sierramarine.com/sierra/catalogjava/category.asp

That's what it is, a cdi, which is why I need to change my stator. I guess I'll look at the motor a little closer, see how complete it is. If you say it's worth it, hopefully I can talk him down a bit. It is pretty rare though to find the exact same motor in such a small town lol....

If I remember correctly, the EFI's use a different regulator. Have two sets of wires that go to the stator. One is for the EFI stuff.
