I have come across a thread on S&F on a 80 vector restore and noticed alot of differences in construction and was wondering why. The 80 had alot of floatation and the floor seemed to be higher, does anybody know why ? Was the floatation new coastguard regulations? Does the floor being higher give more strengh? Or maybe mine has been lightened up by someone? Too many questions, i am confused again. Imagethis is mw floor and no floatation on the sides

There were a bunch of changes due to coast guard regulations, some were the use of flotation. I think they added some other support braces as they went.

The newer models were built wityh the floor up to give more interior room. Me personally I like to sit as low as possible in the boats.

Look into core cell or diab foam core. The honeycomb cores hold too much resin and in the end are not nearly as strong. I've been using Diab products for years.

Do you have a website for these products?

I think the seat pedastals were still at the same hieght so you will still sit the same just a differance in position of your legs being bent down more with the floor lower. Makes it easyer for us old people to get up and down.
