I used a suction feed paint gun to spray the gel. I'm not happy with the results, but i still have to sand and buff it. I don't think there is a way to spray gel without having to buff it. Paint will stick to sanded gel, but it won't be near as durable.

The gel wont sand without clogging up the sand paper. Not sure 100 percent where the problem is. Might have to re-gel or remove all I sprayed on and start over. Not a happy dude right now.

Ok, so its time for round 2. I removed the gel where it didn't cure properly and sanded the rest. I bought a dump gun this time so i don't have to reduce it so much just to spray. The only problem i have is that the temp is going to be about 90 this time. I don't want to reduce the mekp in the gel and end up where i was last time. Any tips?

Round two on the gel went much better with the new dump gun. That thing can really spit some material out. The boat is now right side up. I've been hard at it getting the top of the hull ready for gel coat. Filling the well in has my arms wore out. A lot of blocking to make sure it was flat. I used short strand filler for the finishing coats. Everything is prepped to 80 grit except for right next to the rubrail. Will tape the rail off then scuff the rest. If all goes well, I will spray it tomorrow. Here are some pics...

Its all white! Thanks to quarterhorse for the mixing my gel and keeping an eye out while I was painting. A second hand makes the biggest difference in the world. Its late and the pics show it.
