Bill, first of all, pm me your e-mail address and I have a few pdf files on a v king resto Ill send. A lot of good info and will help you understand more. The pad is kinda like the keel. The center of the bottom of the boat thats flat 2/3 of the boat. At speed, the whole boat rides on it. When I took it off the trailer, I set the pad of the boat on a 2 by 8 reinforced with 2 by 4's on either side to keep the plank straight so when the boat was on it, the pad would not distort. Then I blocked the boat at the chines. (were the bottom meets the sides of the boat). The core lays pretty flat in most of the boat. Yours is just a streched out v king. Get me your e mail and read. It's not really that hard.
The pic shows the layout of the core for the v king. I'm pretty sure it would be the same. Hippie would know. This shows it bonded to the hull but not laminated over with glass yet.

Happy Thanksgiving and really appreciate the pictures and advice.

Rick, here is my e-mail address

bdonahoe400@wi.rr.com

Feel free to e-mail me anytime. I haven't had a chance to take a close look at all the picture send and finish reading the thread, but did take a long look at hippies thread.

I'm cooking today. Nice enough here to consider going for a boatride.

Will head north to the lake tomorrow.

Bill

Rick - The picture of your core in but not glassed over really helps. Questions. Are those the original stringers? is the core on the left and right different that what's in the middle underneath the stringers? Are those the new stringers already glassed back in on top of core that is the same foam as on the sides? Also, I see the lines in the foam. It is foam right? Are those all separate strips of foam or one solid piece? Did you start with a large sheet of foam and cut it, or was it already in smaller strips? The stuff I was looking at was 4 feet by 4 feet. Just cut it even and but it up against the next piece? Thanks for the advise on setting the boat of the trailer. Are you saying a 2x8 flat on the ground and 2x4's standing upright screwed to the 2x8 as the base? Bill
