Just curious about the boats. If you see them back out, please let me know. If not the right one will come along eventually. Had to take a week off on working on VNo2 but plan to get going again this week.

I did get a little more done this weekend. I still have a few spots with balsa that need to come out. The solid spots are very slow. Where we did the grinding it looks great. It is going slower then I expected, but I can see that it will be great in a couple weeks. I just have been too busy to do more then a couple hours at a time on it. :(

Bill, don't be afraid to use the grinder on those solid areas, It makes a lot of dust but goes quik. WE NEED PICS TOO!!!!!!!!!

Hi Rick, I'll post pictures as soon as I get a chance.. I am still pulling balsa out of the center but should be done tomorrow. Have done some grinding but found that the balsa just took too long to sand all the way down. In the center between the stringers it was pretty rotted along the sides but the middle was still on solid. The parts I have used the grinder on look real clean. We're making good progress. Thanks for checking in. Bill

I know this sounds like a rookie mistake, but next time I take the core out I will start in the bow and stern areas first and work toward the easier places. Without even thinking, I did the opposite and really regret it. I am climbing into the hard to get areas and being careful of the areas that I have already removed all the balsa from when I would have had support if I had worked the other way. I know it sounds like a small thing but I am sure I would have had it all out in half the time. Anyone getting ready to remove the old core, consider taking my advise. Bill

You're doing good if that's your only regret. Just put some thick cardboard to support your weight.
