I sure hope you have a "GOOD" core PROPERLY installed or your GOOD DEAL will be a lesson.

Russ, that was in 2004. Richie Grays boat Tanner park, NY. Excerpts from S&F article:
Yes it was rich's boat, he was ok just banged up. John was a passenger at the time of the crash. John was rushed to the hospital with broken ribs and internal bleeding.

As I recall, the hull "exploded" at a speed of about 90. The consensus was a bad core, a crack developed in the pad, and hydraulic pressure blew it apart. One person was seriously injured, the other was ok.

This statement is a reality!! Hey, it's recored!!!!

"This is what happened AFTER it was recored. it was a bad core job. Richie asked me to do it, but I had to many projects going. Apparently, not enough resin on the glass prior to putting the Balsa down. The Balsa sucked all the resin out of the mat, and left it almost dry."

Not trying to push my Viper ( I may shrink wrap it and hang in the rafters)
This is the response you want to read when you consider buying a used HydroStream.

Well the boat was supposed to arrive today but it got delayed due to a bad wheel bearing. I hope I did not make a mistake buying this boat. I had a chance to buy another boat that was the same size but built for drag racing, but I liked the hydro streams lines and interior. I guess I will just wait and see. I will try to post a pic once it gets here. Who would I contact to have the core checked out? I live on Long Island. Thanks for all your advice...Chris

I just sent Ronnie Holzmacher a PM for contact info. He had the fastest Viper out there. He has a fiberglass/ motor building shop on long island. He would be the one who knows those boats from end to end.
