Core bedded on one side then filled in transition from floor and core, hull to core with fairing triing to make a flater surface to lay 1708 on.

Hope not to bore you guys with the step by step progress, but to me every small step to you is a giant leap to me. Ground all sharp edges where core and fairing met and laid my two layers of 1708 over the core. First layer unwaxed, second waxed. Hopefully tommorow I can roll her to other side and get start again.

Looking awesome, it's a shame to cover up all that pretty balsa with carpet, I would just have to leave it bare and you could show people what you had to go through to fix your boat, you really have done an excellent job

What made you decide to go Coosa for the floor instead of marine ply? Not judging, just curious....

For those of us that have doe it know how much work is involved between the pictures and for those that have not done one it's a great tool to be able to see each step in the process.

I originaly wanted to go all composite but after research I think the balsa for core was the best choice. Everything else will be coosa, floor,seat box,air box and any other accesories. I think as picky as I am being to make sure there will be no place for water to hide in my set up and the two layers of 1708 on top and bottom the balsa will be there longer than me. I am no boat builder but I will feel safe and i will not worry when my children are flying the vector.

Thanks man, that balsa sure does look good after covered with glass. If it wasn,t so slippery when wet I would leave it be and replace the floor with balsa.

i was just talking to my father in law ( who is currently struggling/dragging through his own boat project) about how this site helps even with the small progress things just for the fact that you can share it with people that are interested. it has helped me stay motivated in times where i prolly would have got burnt out.
