Man, time flies by, I can't believe its been almost a year since I have posted anything. I have made some progress but not as much as I was expecting when I started this project.

I am trying to post some pics but they are too large. Any suggestions?

Thanks Hippie, I might have figured it out, not sure what size to use.

These are pics of how not to do.
My plan was to lay down the 1708 and also embed the core at the same time.
On the left side of stringers I mixed resin to hot and was unable to complete before gelling occured, had to grind all of it back out.
On the right side I mixed a little less hardner and was able to put down the 1708 but my core didn't set so I had to remove the core only.

Got 2 layers of 1708 layed back in on the left side and also the core set on the right side.
I layed the core in this time not bitting of more than I could chew. I only layed a 2 inch strip along the stringer first and the layed the remaining 4 inches second. Also before I set the first core in I filled the void of the strake with west system 407 fairing compound so the core could lay flat.

The void under the squegee is where I used the fairing.

Looking good, I always heard that if you f$&k with Fiberglas just redo it, I had some mistakes with mine and like you had to grind and refiberglas, just some learning experiences keep the pictures coming

I used my 4 1/2 inch grinder with cutting wheel to trim edges of core almost even with floor register.

Used the same system on other side of stringer with laying 2 inches of core. This way takes more time but I know the core is embeded well.

Laid the rest of core up to the floor register and filled the void on one side with fairing compound.

Ran out of resin so I guess it will be next week before I will re-up.
