Today i spent a few hours trueing up the hull.
Started by leveling the main support beams, shimmed till true front to back. My main supports are one the second strake up from the pad which is where the floor sets. Just for kicks i checked top of deck to see if it was true with the bottom . from stem to stearn the top deck cap was true . I thought this to be impressive for a production boat.
I added additional suport under the pad to prevent distortion while inside the boat laying new material. I started by checking the pad's trueness from trailing edge to about 6 feet from stearn. at that point the pad began changing from concave to convex making it hard to check. I found that the side with the crack was sagging. My pad has the hook built in and not knowing the point where the hook is supposed to start i made a templete of the hook by holding a 2x4 outside the strake and scribing. I did this on the good strake. Then i screwed two 2x4's together and cut the pattern so both will be identical. I then supported and shimmed til the pad is true to the second strake . I think i am very close to ready for installing stringers ,below floor core and floor.
I will finish trimming some edges around the stearn and grinding tommorow. I have been called to work wednesday and thursday so i wll not have a chance to pick up materials till next week. If all works out i will have the floor installed. I have heard not to glass under 60 degrees so weather is a factor. so far every thing looks good as far as the weather.
