Had a delay but still on it. Between the honey do list and b/day parties last weekend didn't get much done. Been pokin at it after work though. Very little touch up grinding and in go the stringers. Going to put them in the same way they were. In the pad and core around. They lasted what 28 years? If they last another 29 years I'll be 79. I hope I'll still be flying this thing! Ha :boating:

Grind, gring, grind. Still moving along. Working on the floor register at the transom. Almost as bad as the bow. Not taking any short cuts on the prep work though. No more pics till stuff starts going back together. Ya seen one ground up piece of fiberglass, ya seen them all! Get well soon Hippie!

Yes I'm still on it. Got stringers and most of the core in. Going to laminate some tonite. I'll try to get some pic's. Taking longer than expected due to honey do list. Can't beleive how much just the stringers stiffened the hull up. Once I get the core done, I'm going to fit the floor but not going to install it till it's on the trailer so the boats lighter when manhandling it.

Heres a couple of pics even though there a week and a half old. I've already laminated over most of the stitch mat and stringers.

I didn't take any pics after laminating because my fingers were to sticky!

Looks like you're on the home stretch! :majesty:

I've never seen stitch mat though. Is it balsa? Looks like it would be flexible (easier to install?). Who carries it.

Let me reword that, stitch mat is the glass, undirectional stitched to directional. One shot deal, only one laminant. Take alot of resin to wet though. I decider to get away from the bulsa and went with foam core. Lighter and won't rot. Got it cheap too. I've heard alot of bad talk on s&f about it but, the big glass guru's around here (Eastpointe Fiberglass) laughed when I questioned them what I've heard. I live near Lake St. Clair which is considered rough compared to inland lakes and they said you'll break yourself before the boat. I'll try it. I can junp up and down on it and it flexes very little. I know it'll be way stronger than it was! I'll keep progress posted as much as I can.

Looking good. I am also thinking of an alternative to balsa to prevent any future rot but we will see when the time comes.

I'm getting ready to install the front footwell bulkhead and wondering if any one with a v king could get me a measurement of how many inches forward the footwell goes till the bulkhead or also called the air box is.. I'm not going to but the air box back in. Just going to put another bulkhead to hold stuff up under the bow. Thanks, Rick, :boating:
