6 people will be able to lift it right off the trailer. We took mine off with 4. You might find the bow eye fasteners to rusted. I had to sawsall mine off.
Thanks Guys. I did get it off the trailer last night. Used the same method as you did in the back Chet, and three of us slowly rolled the trailer out the front. When we got to the very end of the trailer one pulled the trailer out while the other two lifted and set it down gently. The garage had a pile of old tires so I supported it at the chines but that wont be good enough to work on it. I will secure it better today both in the chines and at the bow. Then it's time to get to work. Have plans most of today, but should get the stringers and remaining core out tomorrow. Then let the sanding begin.
I don't have a picture of it but I got the boat on jack stands and real stable and level side to side. The stringers are cut off real low to the bottom to where it will just be grinding.
Question: Is there balsa under the original stringers and between them? It appears to be lower already but can't tell if there is more balsa under the middle of the stringers or just several layers of glass. I am nervious about cutting into the middle. Should I just be grinding until it looks loke the bottom?
Sounds like some progress. My viper had core under the stringers in the pad, but I have herd some were built with the stringers on the pad and core between them. I guess I would drill a small hole if it's thick enough so you know you're not going to go through, just go the depth of the skin layer you took off the rest of the core.
How are you supporting the hull so it keeps it's shape?

If the trailer has bunks, witch it should, I really would have left it on the trailer while doing all the structural work to keep the hull supported evenly unless you built a jig your putting it in. Once the core is in and done then you can take it off the trailer and flip it to work on the bottow but not first.
I built a cradle That runs the length of the boat. It is a 12 foot 2x10 running the length and 2 12 foot 2x4's for a box that supports it. On the sides, in the back by the chines, I have floor jacks with plywood squares and carpet on them, In the front I have a workmate with carpet on it and open just enough that it fits over the bow eye. It is very stable and level and supported the length of the boat in the center. All the core on the sides is already out so all the remaining work in down the middle where the support is. I did find a double layer of glass down the middle, one added afterward, and there was core under that. It was really rotted core under the middle so I am glad I am taking it all out. The new shops perfect. I think the core was not under thew stringers but not sure yet. I should have most everything out today and ready for some sanding. I'll post some pictures of the support if I can find my download cable.

There is no core under the stringers on mine and dont think they built the vultures this way.
