Re: Another Hydrostream fanatic on board.
I thought about the old container. Come spring I might look into it again. I think I found where I can get a 53' container for like $500
8" set back is a good starting point then tune from there.

Re: Another Hydrostream fanatic on board.
Do you think I will need a lot of tuning? I am putting the original 150 black max that came with the boat back on, unless a 200+ shows up under my christmas tree unexpectedly.
The jackplate is Hydraulic. I expect to return it to the same holes in the jackplate that it was set on. I know it was setup for running on the river in Lacrosse. I wouldn't think it would need too much tuning.

Re: Another Hydrostream fanatic on board.
Having a hydraulic jackplate is a huge plus. Then you can adjust engine height on the fly and that will help with getting it to fly better as where I have to adjust it manually and that can be a pain to do on the lake sometimes.

Re: Another Hydrostream fanatic on board.
Hippie, Does Mercury make a gauge similar to the power trim and tilt gauge for the jackplate to help you know where to raise or lower to, or is it all by feel? VNo1 didn't have a jackplate. My Evinrude 200 was right on the transom.
That will all be new to me.

Re: Another Hydrostream fanatic on board.
What brand jack plate do you have? Some do have a gauge and sending unit.
I just watch my water press and go by feel.

Making good progress. A little each night. Tired of digging up issues. Like to get to building it back up.
