Ron Hill 4-blade ET on a Vegas XT?

Post: # 1376Post iqraceworks »

I just bought a 4 blade Ron Hill ET type for my 89' Vegas XT to try. I love how my DAH 27 SRX and 25 Trophy run, I'm hoping this 28 4-blade might be a great lake prop, and maybe even give me some more top end over my 27 DAH SRX.

Anyone run one of these Ron Hill 4-blades? Did you like it?

I was actually looking at one tonight thinking the same thing. Let us know how it runs for ya.

There is a guy with a 97 vegas v hull with a 3.0 omc on it in our drag club, man does it sound good! It walkes past my 200 merc.

I will make sure to post up once I get it on the boat and test it out. Hopefully it will run great!

Yes, the 3.0 Loopers seem to really have a bunch of torque if they are set up right, but on the top end the Merc's still seem to pull away just because they can really spin the RPM's. My buddy had an STV Euro with a 260 Merc on it. I would always get him out of the hole and pull about 300ft on him until about 75mph, then he would just blow past me. But, with his setup he was running 110+ mph...and I top out at 80mph

But, I was still impressed that with my heavy Vegas I could still get him out of the hole ...even when we were both running the same pitch props.

Here is a little video I made a few years ago :D
