Question About Core???

Post: # 11848Post Merlin509 »

I've been in love with streams since I was a kid and looked forward to the January boat show every year in Minnesota to see the beautiful glittering hydrostreams with the Merc 150's bolted to the back. I've owned a Volero YT hull in the past, but just purchased a Vector with a 150 Merc for $1500. I have a question about the core on this boat. The transom is in great condition and the core appears to be intact, but it seems odd to me that the core is hollow. The previous owner had replaced a portion of the floor, so the first thing I did after purchase was to pull the floor. What I found was a fiberglass core that is hollow and am wondering if that is how it's supposed to be. I've attached pics. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

I responded to your thread on S&F but the core is most likely rotten away.

I have Hippies vulture in the middle of a new core in my shed if you want to drive down and check it out some time.

Welcome to the forum.
For some reason, this site won't let me attach the pictures. I'll respond on S&F.

You can upload/attach pictures here but there is a file size limit. The best option to use is photobucket as they will automatically resize larger images that will work here or you can read the guide posted here.

Here is the reason for the file size limit...
Second is that I will be turning the allowed files size way down for uploading images as a lot of people are uploading huge size images and its taking a really long time for the images to load in posts and its doing a number on load times when on mobile devices. The new limit will be 1MiB (1 meg) per image. The image can be as big as you want dimension wise as long as it is under that file size of 1 MiB.
Here are some things from the Knowledge Base that should help.

How to upload/post images easily
And
How to resize images the easy way

Hope that helps. We are working on a way to resize images on the server side but for now these are the best options.
