Man the stars all aligned and a lot of work "and money" came together this weekend. I have been down on power all season but just figured the old powerhead was getting tired and was going to put my good powerhead on but decided to do compression and leakdown tests first. I found it was not firing on #4 and fixed that with a new switchbox and this thing came alive again big time! I cracked my good 26 yamaha drag prop and it will be a couple weeks until I get my new one so i ran my trusty 27 srx.
I won my first class, 85mph and under at the end of the quarter mile. Then used the nitrous in the 95 mph class and won that, well that put me in with the big boys, the class I'm building my vking for 115mph and under. I took second place in that class. I did have problems with my gps so I'm not sure how fast I was going but I'm guessing just a hare over 100 and I will be doing some testing this week. The boat that beat me has ran 120 in the quarter and passed me like I was standing still about half track, but in the end it's a 15' 30+ year old boat with a fishing motor.
This vid is me and a comp xb2002 with a merc drag and mad efi system, the fastest outboard in our club. He also had problems with gps but usually runs about 105.
