lifting strakes
I have a v-bottom vegas and was thinking about addin another set of lifting strakes on the bottom to help get this thing out the water easier cause it wont get up on the pad with a little over 200 horses and 6 inches of setback running neutral trim. More trim= real bad porpising. Has anyone here ever done this before and did it work?

Re: lifting strakes
Welcome to the forums.
I have 12" of setback on my xt vegas and have virtually no porpising. I know it's not the same but I think I would try more setback before adding strakes. It sure would be a lot easier and cheaper.

Re: lifting strakes
That was my original plan but all of the riding I do is in salt water and this boat usually takes a heck of a beating goin to the beach every weekend. Anyway the more I think about it the less I want the extra stress on the transom in a 3-4 foot chop. On the better side of things if I do the strakes its not gonna cost me much cause I allready have material sittin around and a hoist in the back yard. Thanks for your advice on the setback which I still might try if I can find a set of blocks to stick in just for a test run.
