Re: warning non hydrostream- dr20 makeover
It should be safer for the speeds I want. I never even hooked up the nitrous in the vking but now it's going to get some use :D I was wrong about the optima batteries, not only are they junk they are 45#'s so I took 90#'s out of it then weighed it tonight. It came in at 578 with most of the rigging ...

warning non hydrostream- dr20 makeover
Well I stepped up and bought a boat that doesn't need any structural repair, it actually doesn't need much at all it's just been sitting for 5 or 6 years and some rigging need to be changed. I plan on taking it to work and getting a weight tomorrow. It didn't stop raining today and I didn't have roo...

Re: Chets (77viper) new VKing replacement!!!
It's not a stream but I think it should get some approval. I have been pushing the limits of these hulls for a couple years and found the wrong side of them so I decided it might be wise to change a little. I will be posting some of the work in the project section. It's been sitting for 5 years and ...

Re: recore material
I use 2 layers of 1.5 oz csm under 1/2" balsa covered in 1708 with vinylester resin. I also vacuum bag the core down. I can say after blowing the vking over at 110 the core and stringers don't have any cracks in them so it must be strong enough.

Re: let the fun begin
Sweet!
That has turned out amazing.
Get used to everything like it is before you make any changes to your set up. That way you can tell if it's better due to you being more comfortable in the boat or physical changes.

Re: well 2.5 mercury efi dropped a rod
Looks like the piston stuck and broke the rod cap. Have the injectors cleaned before putting it back together. We use Bracato and they give a print out so that way you can see what they were flowing.

Ok, at his time I could actually use some cash for another project so I'll let it go for $3500 with everything.

Re: Glad Chet's ok!
Thanks guys, I can say it was completely my fault for pushing it to hard to soon. I have been so busy that I didn't get the seat time I needed to feel what the boat wanted and was going to do. The first time going full throttle was at Three lakes when the picture of the boat completely out of the wa...
