I use and sell a product called "Captain Chomp" hull cleaner. Biodegradable, and works well. Takes the brown staining from my lake off real nice. Gets my boats back to bleach white.
Spray it on, let it sit and re-apply as necessary. Only light scrubbing, if any, is required.

The prop in the pic should be a A 4 part # 48 78800 A4 30p. It is a small ear, or "inline" chopper.
