When I had my Vector I ran it with a 4" L&S hydraulic plate. I wouldn't go with any more setback than that. I just bought a 3" manual jackplate for our Ventura from Vance MFG. Really nice quality and was a good price.

Just picked up a Ventura II for me and my teenage son. Bare hull with new floor, core, transom. Will be putting on a 150hp of some kind.
