Re: Project Sleeper in progress

Looking good! I am at a point where I need to make a jig for my Valero YT, but I don't really know how to go about it with the sponsons and all. Figured I may just set mine on the floor and stack up some 2x4's and such to support the strakes.

What is your plan for power? Going back with blue?

Re: Well I made it over finally...

How do you guys feel about leaving the sponson's open? I am a little nervous when it comes to cutting the glass out over them. I'd hate to go to far and cut a hole in the bottom or go to far to the side and cut a hole in the side of the boat. If you look at the pictures, you can see where the floor ...

Re: Well I made it over finally...

That's what I figured. The only thing I am pissed about (not pictured) is that I cut a nice slit in the boat with the dual saw I was using. It's about 1/8th inch thick and maybe 18-20in long. Good thing about it is that it's right where the vee turns down into the sponson, so it will be a 90* angle ...

Well I made it over finally...

Some of you guys have seen my blue and white Valero YT project over on S&F and on the Hydrostream groups on FB. I gave $2700 for the boat with a fresh 9 hours Johnson 150 and a brand new caravan trailer. I've got about $600 in materials so far for the recore once I finish the tear out. I also pi...
