I ended up taking it to work and it was the same, while it was there our yard guy found a setting that was wrong. Thanks for the help.

I dont no a ton about puters but it sounds like a virous take your puter to say liabary and see if you can log on they usely have free internet . If you cant hook up there something is arye with your puter.

Well I think my free internet has run out, that or I messed something up. I have been using someone's unsecured wifi for about a year now its still unsecured and I can connect and get email but get a proxy server is refusing connection message. did they do something or is it my laptop?
