It's looking better...ran great! I re-did cowling during snowstorms...not completely done but pretty cool.
Was sooo nice just being "on the water" w/ the family :0) Oh...and going really fast. Image Image Image

Looks good! I like the cowl for sure.

Makes me kinda sad though. Still no open water here and still a bit of snow on the boat here but give it a week and it will be all gone im sure.

I cant wait to get ripping on that thing. :D

Boat looks great, I'm a little jealous.

I see the river is open for the absolute diehard guys. That nice 45 weather has me itchen to do something

Still driving trucks on the lake here. It'll be a month or so before the ice is gone. That's ok because my powerhead still isn't fixed.

It was cold...a lot of snow on "shady side" of islands. Totally worth it...3 year old was ready to stay longer, have to check her "stats" :0)

I like the cover . How did you get the old stickers off ?

Well, it's kinda high-tech. Hair dryer:0) Tried goo-gone, oops...nothing worked. Hair dryer doesn't get too hot like heat gun to damage fiberglass. It is time consuming and need to clean remaining residue with goo-gone and elbow grease. Finish with Meguiars Oxidation Remover. Wax with Liquid Glass. Make it shine w/ Yacht Brite.
Credit card scraper also helps with difficult sections. I'm ordering pinstriping and should be done next week w/ mine.
I used Mercury Phantom black to fill in every little ding, sprayed into cap and used match (tip from Lakeside Marina) ripped side and it really worked.
Hope that helps.

Jeff

I use a eraser wheel on a drill to remove stickers, but try it in a place that doesn't show first. It works good but it's still a pain.

I took a ride on the lake today looking at race sites.

Well, it's raining here so we continued to work on the cowling. Have 1" dark charcoal metallic pinstriping on order for indents above and below logo...should look good :0) Image
