Post: # 10010Post redneckcustoms13 »

After trying to find a forum for 3 years i reckon i finally found it. My name is Hunter and Im down in lower alabama and have a 78 vector comp with a 2.4 200 on it i added some weight with the 3 extra seats and spare battery but im more for the fun than just all out speed. Anyone else down this way with a stream id love to meet up with you and check it out, shoot the crap maybe go run em down the creek.

Thanks guys, ill be getting some pics up shortly. Yesterday evening took it out for a shakedown run with the new to me powerhead that we swapped on earlier this week. Everything seems to be well. The stator doesnt seem to be working :banghead: and on the way back in the water got so rough that my ground wire going to my trim switch/gauges pulled out of the terminal so i had to make it about 10 miles fully trimmed down . Tonight i plan to get the ground fixed along with trace all the wiring and make sure nothing else this simple will happen again and check for any that need to be replaced. Hopefully my old stator is still in working condition and i can get her to charge.

Welcome aboard and I really like it!! Trailers are minor as long as the safely pull the boat to your favorite water hole.

My trailer will be getting a makeover as well but not till next year some time. Have to finish my boat first.

Any questions or anything dont hesitate to ask.

thanks guys, i bought the boat in early 07 with a 2.4 150 on it and it ran great, everything was fine until i was coming home in a storm last may. i was riding in the wake of a large contender and it hit a log and sank it. well when i come over it... yep the lower unit caught it and blocked off my water inlets. i was in a hurry and didnt think to check them. need less to say it ran hot and scorched the power head. I come across an old ski boat a friend of mine had week before last and he only wanted $800 for it because it needed a transom. Ofcourse i jumped on it because it had a 2.4 200 on it. got it home cranked it everything seemed to be well so i swapped the power head onto this midsection and kept my bobs lower unit. And for the sake of how it looks threw a 2.5 cowl on it and took of a few decals. I am EXTREMELY happy to be back on the water, the stator is still kicking my butt but hopefully with the help of a few friends we can get this figured out. The trailer is getting blasted and shot with either flat black or white i havent decided yet. More than likely flat black just because of the old school hotrodder in me likes some flat black :D thanks for the compliments guys im glad i finally found a forum dedicated to these great boats.
