Well, This where we kinda started today. Was a bit more to do then thought. But then again thats how it always goes.

Image

Whats that up there? Thats right, A whole lot of nothing. Got the rest of the core out and all smoothed out up under the bow. That was no fun what so ever. :? Only took me about 2 hours to do that little section. ICK!

Image

Getting ready to fill in a hole or three.

Got some goodness on the transom. Looking good so far I think.

Image

A few holes all patched up.

Got a little something all cut out and ready to go in.

Another layer of mat down and the stringers all tabbed in. The small pieces of wood are just temporary to hold everything in place as it hardens.

Thats all there is for now as we started running out of day and I had to get home. All in all it was a very good day. Its coming along finally.

Looking good Hippie, you'll be on the water soon. What did you use to patch the holes in the hull?

The holes will have 3 small layers of 2 oz mat then we went with one layer of 2 oz under the stringers and up 3" past on the sides. We will be using another layer of 3/4 oz matt under the core. That will make 5 layers of mat on the inside and there should be 2 layers of 2 oz mat on the outside. When whoever tried to do the core the first time they royally screwed up, there are more holes, cracks and cuts through the hull than I would have ever imagined. In all actuality this hull should have gone to the hydrostream gods in the sky but it will be fixed and a good solid hull when we are done.

We will be laying in core next weekend as long as our schedules work out.

^^^ What he said. lol

And yes, Had I known this boat was going to turn out like this I would have never bought it but by the time I got it home and started tearing into it I already had to much into it to not keep going. I wasnt about to take that big of a loss and send it to a better place in the sky and be without a boat. Now being into it for more then its worth money wise when its done is a different story. At least then I will be able to use it so there is some justification.
