as a previous poster stated, wetsanding is great, but i might not need anything that aggresive. try some maguiers (sp?) one step cleaner wax and see what she does. if not, then i would try some polishing compound. i personally would make wet sanding the final attempt.

if you wanna go all out, again prior to wetsanding, 3m finesse it, and then some maguiers flagship wax. it will look a little better, but cost a lot better.

Thanks for your help guys - it's hard to tell from the pictures but the boat actually still has a decent shine to it, its not oxidized too heavily so I think I will try the cleaner/wax first and see how she goes.

Looks good, I haven't seen any with that colour scheme before. Where do you do your boating?

Neither had I until I saw this one. To be honest I really wasn't fond of it at first but in person it's been growing on me. I love the red/burgundy interior. I do most of my boating in the Parry Sound area

Right on. You should check out the Gravenhurst races this weekend (Gull Lake). Not sure I'll be running my V-King just yet but theres lots of cool boats around.

Sounds good! I'll try to make it. What sort of V-King do you have?

It's an all white center steer comp style V-king. rebuillt in 05 with a brand new deck with a short shaft 260.

The V-King is an old design that all in all handles pretty good in calm water. There are lots of guys around here with great setup advise. You'll be amazed what a little seat time and some small adjustments will do to your boat!

That thing must fly! Luckily my boat already came with a jackplate and i'm getting steering wheel mounted trim switch soon enough, excited to learn more about setup as I browse this site.
