What inch setback and what propshaft height are some of you V-King owners running? Gonna do some resetup on my 82 V-King Bridgeport Merc.

Re: Setback and Engine height V-King
what is best for handling is no set back. what is best for top in speed is 4in
do to the front nose being so light a cup prop will lift it easy the same as set back , im running a transom water pick up so you can jack the motor untill it slips then back down untill it grips without the hassel of looseing water presure or the low water nose cone vents are at the cone which will grind in the mud & sand and suck up into the motor really bad location for water inlet for a fresh water cooling system. mine is a 1988 hydrostream v king 235 hp evinrude bobs nose cone land & sea hyd jack plate 26p prop simi cup. gary

I run a sporty with 6" set back and as high as 1-5/8" above the pad. It can still be run alot higher.
