Pad delmaination
Hey guys I was under my vision the other day and noticed that the pad had some paint missing...i could see the glass......whats the best way to fix it?
Re: Pad delmaination
I hate be the one, but it is likely that your balsa core is wet.
The good news is there are lots of great threads around here on the subject.
The bad news is, it's a big job
What kind of HP/Speeds do you run or would like to see?

There's a big difference between missing paint (gel coat) and delamination. Do you mean a few scrapes/chips or does it appear that the fiberglass is actually pulling away/separating?

Would be better to be safe, was the core checked/replaced when the floor was done? did it hit something? there has to be a reason a quarter size chip came off, not trying to scare you, just better to be safe.

I smell a price drop LOL! serously, get the name of the shop that did the floor/stringers and call them, its all fixable, but you dont want to pay good money for a water logged turd.

Re: Pad delmaination
I would be very concerned about a chip the size of a quarter in the gel over the pad area, if he cant provide answers, see if you can get someone with experience in hull work to go with you, even if you have to pay them its a good investment, rather than getting stuck with a boat you will have to sink a bunch on dough into.
