double decker boat trailer

Post: # 86Post 77viper »

I'm thinking of having a double decker boat trailer made. It would be nice to take 2 boats on vacation and other outings. I just can't picture fishing out of a hydrostream. Has anyone ever made one or have some advice.

The top boat would be a viper or a 16' bass boat and the bottom would be a vages or a malibu flightcraft. My plan so far would be a four post design with 2 bunks inside of 2 others and the inside ones would rise above the bottom boat. The top one would have to be loaded and raised first then the bottom one would go on.

Any imput good or bad welcome, Thanks.

Hmmm I don't know about that, Sounds kinda risky if you get into an accident or somthing. Although it has been done back in the day. There was some pics of one with streams on Hydrstream.org but the site gone done the crapper soo I can't get a pic.

Yes it has but we are trying to fix that here. :boating:

As for the double decker trailer, I agree with Maple Leaf, Sounds risky if you get into some kind of accident. I dont think I would do it. Maybe just one really long trailer. :)

Some of our work trucks have racks on the top that we load boats on trailers on that's what got me thinking. Here is a picture of one I foundImage

This is just a idea for now. With a boat on the bottom the top one wouln't need to be all that high but I wouldn't want a heavy boat on the top the viper would be perfect.

We have had 22 foot pontoons on our trucks but you have to be carefull especially in the wind.

Obviously it isn't designed to be to be only trailer on trailer. But if I were to do that, I would definitely have ball mounts on the trailer to help secure the smaller trailers.
