Lake St clair and area

Post: # 1391Post havingfun2 »

Are there any streams that would be interested in meeting up in Lake St Clair? Michigan or Ontario side?
I know of lots of channels to run almost no matter the weather wind conditions.

I run st clair! Love the flats, bays and channels. These things will run on a wet sponge LoL. I'm rigging my viking this weekend and hoping to make it to a mhb meet at the holloway resevouir next weekend. I just got done recoring, stringers and floor. I'm usually all over the place, from anchor bay to gull to seaway. I'm like you, know the calm way there. If we run out of good weather this year, there's alwys next year. There's a few uf us in this neck of the woods. Keep in touch. Where you from?

I keep the bigger boat at Mitchell's Bay on the Canadian side. Run to Seaway and Gull quite often (approx 14 miles across) In fact was at Gull Saturday! When the Mrs. wants to boat we take the bigger one. When she does not, I run the Stream. It would be fun to meet up sometime!

Jobbie nooner? do you mean actually pull up to the island.. or stay back a bit in the rafts of boats?
I have 2 boats a 28 fter cruiser and the stream... I have done both.
Depending on who is going etc..
I like to just run the stream and basically head back when I'm and or whoever is with me is ready.
The issue is this needs to be timed as I'm sure you have already witnessed the cazy boat wakes.
Once I cross the shipping channel I'm home free... but I've stood it on end more than once to do this.

In the cruiser.. I could care less..we've even spent the night.

For a run and to say hello.. jobbie or not.. Gull would be a great place to meet as within minutes there are multiple places to run the small fast boats.

Ha never get to the island that day. I ususally steer clear of the nooner. The Muscamoot raft off is fun though. I come from anchor bay area and cut through Fisher and Muscamoot bays to get to gull. There's a canal that cuts through the old club on harsens island from Muscamoot and gulls right across the south channel. Another cool place is the west end of seaway island. There is a stretch of beach that is US soil we go to. Got a good story about the canadian police and that island! We had to show them the boarder marker because they were tryin to bust us for beers! lol She was a cute girl too! Ha. Most of the time we hang in anchor bay though. A place we call munchies bay. Don't know if you ever make it over that way. Theres some good water there too. We'll have to sxchange cell #'s and get together. The seasons right around the corner!

I believe I know your hangout location although I have not been over there for a few years when the I 68 started to be a pain in the arse.

Seaway ? specifically here?

To me gull or seaway is really rather neutral for cops and patrols to be worrying about as they are not populated ( I read Seaway was actually mostly or all man when the shipping channel was dug, then rerouted at a latter date.) If cops have time to be worrying about, they must not be paying attention to any real issues.
