Virage question
I recently purchased another virage, from what I can research this thing has been all over the east coast and now back on long island.. it's in need of a total restoration..the boat was painted white some time ago but as I started sanding it I realized that it was originally black with red, yellow and orange stripes..any info on this boat would be great, thank you.. btw I tried to upload photos but the files too large, I'll try to figure that out.

Re: Virage question
Welcome back to the broke itchy group.
Please get some pictures posted. There aren’t many Virage’s .
Can’t remember if I ever saw a black one .
What are your plans?
How’s the interior?

Re: Virage question
Hey Ron thanks for getting back to me. I figured if anyone knows these virage it would be you.I messaged you a couple months ago about my other virage whether to put a 280 or a promax on it. I went with the 280... what a beast! Probably one of the best little boats ever made, that's why I bought another. This one is pretty rough but I'm ready for the task. It has no interior but I think it's just a non turbo stage one boat.maybe one day we can chat about core materials and resin choices, thanks again!

Re: Virage question
Good for you!!
Have you run with the 280? If you have , one of us should start a Virage/ 280 thread.
What are your intentions for this one? Make a bow rider?
This one has the “turbo graphics” in the gel. From the IHR, turbo was graphics, nicer interior with side pads and sleeping pad up front with a reading light.
What stage hull /year?
As of now you and I have the ONLY turbo’s with the center panel on the deck in white.
That detail made it a challenge building the seat striping.
I didn’t want a white center panel on my seats so I grabbed the black from the windscreen to fill in that area.

Re: Virage question
This virage is a 1991 stage 0ne
But it doesn't make sense because the graphics seem to be the turbo graphics but since theres no interior in the boat it was hard to tell.
I've seen pictures of this one on the internet and it had high back skater seats in it previously.
Theres no holes where the side interior pads would have been, no pad under the deck either.
My plans are to split the deck and hull, lose the foam and a total recore.
As far as my other virage with the 280 I didn't have much time to dial it in yet because I got the motor so late last season, but what a difference going from a stock carb 200 merc!!
The boat it a totally different ride at 100 mph!

Re: Virage question
That’s interesting!! I was going to mention the side pad mount holes also.
I see this thread is in the “ non HS” general questions.
I’ll see if Kevin can move it .
Would love for Peter DeClere chime in on your ‘91 stage I semi turbo model
