Replacement rub rail and windshield

Post: # 20313Post Stellix »

I know this has been asked many times but I'm looking for some too. Does anyone still make the black rubber rub rail that fits over the factory aluminum rail? What about a replacement Vector windshield ? I thought about bonding the top deck to the hull and filling the rivet holes and just use some of the black push on edge trim . Has anybody tried it that way?

if you took the factory off and just glassed the seam.....i bet you could use the same style rub rail that pops "over" the factory rail...just get a smaller one.

i.e. this pop over rub rail is 5/8" tall (i think) ....you could try 1/2" ...they make all kinds of dimensions of it mcmaster carr carries. they send you samples of any of it if you ask...thats how i found the right size to pop over............. maybe hold it on with a good oil based silicon.

the pop over type has a metal rib cage inside rubber coating.....it isnt a great shock absorber though.....

i wanna say spaeth has done this technique on some of his streams
81 vector....complete restore....1991 7 pedal 200 slightly modded
ALWAYS under construction
