1976 viper bicentennial

Post: # 14569Post rehbein579 »

I will be selling this for a friend, thought to ask here in a forum about cost, history, rare?
Is this boat all original worth more? Bicentennial make it worth more? It still has the Spirit of '76 printed on it.
It has only been in the water maybe 40 times has an original 115 Johnson.
The gelcoat looks real nice as is the interior. Only a few dock rubs below the waterline.
Just looking for a stating point $ for Ebay or gauge interest if it is indeed rare.
I can Email pics to any one that can give my any honest advice.
I hope posting this here is not breaking any rules not trying to sell it here just want info.

Wow, that looks great! Yes, they are rare. There are not many 36 yr old boats, period... and fewer nice ones.

But you want a number, so assuming that.....

if all the title work was in order,
I was not able to see it in person,
if the person selling on eBay had many sales and high feedback,

I could see paying 4 to 5k easily.

btw a documented re-core would raise the price significantly.

Well that's jmho. Anyone else care to put a number on it? :?:

Hey, Thanks for the reply's. No re-core has been done. Really only used for some 4th of July and Memorial Day for its whole life, So maybe it would not need it? I have very little knowledge on these boats. I Have lots of good feed back on ebay with large sales. Thanks Again.

Being that the core is original in a boat that old, it will need replacing. They didn't build them that well back then as they were more worried about just getting as many out the door as fast as they could and quality suffered because of it. That being said, that is one beautiful boat and I would agree with Surface Scratcher on the 4k price and with a recore and new transom I could see much more out of it. I say keep it. Not many of them left and especially in that condition.
