V-King Drag Race

Post: # 9929Post p man »

So I ran my first drag race a few weeks ago and had a ton of fun. I've been borrowing a 22" Yammy Drag and love the way it hooks up but I have to give it back :(
Just wondering if any of you guys have had any luck with other props?
I've got a 22" Hoss that I am going to try but would love to grab a couple more to add to the collection
How do E.T's and cut Choppers work out of the hole?
The boat is a V-King with a 260 of sorts

Here's some video from the race. I got some setup work left but overall was pretty happy with how the boat ran.

Nice to see that the ole hydrostream is still good competition for the other (modern) boats.

Boat rides real nice!

That stv (white and red) is moving too :P

I ran a 22 et on the vegas, it worked well on that. I have a 22 yamaha now so I should see how they compair back to back.

The vking looked great and fast.

I'm wondering if a prop with a bit more lift like the et will help hold the bow at the start. The hop is what I'd like to solve.
I can't wait to see how your V-king turns out!

Your hop isn't as bad as some I have seen. I'm going to do some testing this afternoon on trim angle at the start to see what I can do with my viper. I lent my et out last week so I can't test with it.

As for the vking, heck I have no idea how it's going to end up. I might just throw some glass on it to get it on the water for our fairmont race.

Skid Planer

Post: # 10163Post p man »

Thanks.
Anyone have experience with skid planers???
I started building one for the bottom of the jackplate. Im going to put it almost level with the transom notch. Hopefully this will help keep the arse from digging in and let me start with more neutral trim.
I'm a little scared to try it out but there is only one way to see if it works.
I'll get some pics up soon.
