Going price for 83 viper 16ft

I was just wondering what the going price for a fair conditioned 83 viper 16 ft two seater would go for. it is powered by a 87 150 merc. Fl boat, runs but hasn't been overhauled in 10 years... any help would be great looking to purchase my first hydrostream and i've been looking all over and get mixed pricing. the guy selling it is a friend which might get me a little break but i was looking for a round about price of what it's worth. My goal is to eventually upgrade to something like the boat of the month one day but wanted to find something somewhat inexpensive, compared to others i have seen, so i could learn how to drive and just get into this awesome sport. Thanks for any input and i cant wait to further explore this website.

Can you post a pic or 2? That will show actual condition and give an idea what it needs to bring it up to par

Pictures and more info on the boat would be helpful as many different things can affect the price a good amount sometime.

You ate better off going into it assuming the core is bad. I paid 300 for my viper and 500 for my vking knowing they would be gutted and painted.

Like the others have said pictures help determinating value, location also plays a part, there are more streams up here.

It looks like from what I see listed there going for 2000-4000 in your neck of the woods you didnt say what you plan on doing with it racing cruzing 2peeps - 4 this all maters cause you have some real nice boats down there for sale real reasonable .And from living in Fl for 4 years if it sat out it prob has bad core last I checked it rains alot there . I own 3 streams all for diff purposes 1for racing 1for me and the guys and 1for my familey .I no not everyone can own 3 so choose wisely .Just food for thought hope it helps.

Thanks for the help so far, i wish i had taken pics when i was at his house probably wont be over there for a while. But the two seats was kind of a downer really looking for something that i could fit four people but if the price is right i would like to learn on something like this as long as i could not loose my shirt on it down the road... some more info on the boat: the floor and transom has been re done, supported with pvc? and the boat has been garage kept. there are some spider cracks in the hull around the rails. loose wires everywhere but i would clean all that up, hot foot with foot trim? He said it's pretty much set up for racing. my other concern would be the motor i know its been serviced and well kept but it has been a while since it was rebuilt. other than that paint is in fair condition for being as old as it is and comes with a recently serviced trailer (duel axles). hope this helps, i may be able to get over there some time next week to get some pictures. where is a good place to search for these boats in the FL location. so far I've been looking CL and EBAY not a lot of good looking stuff out there under 6k. I am in North FL too...

If the floor and transom have been done but not the core, it needs a core, almost a sure thing. A viper on a tandem axle trailer? I guess I would sell the trailer and get a smaller one, there is absolutely no reason for it. Heck a dual personal watercraft trailer would almost work.
