Hidden Messages in HydroStreams
Hi Everybody:
I used to work at the HydroStream plant in New Brighton somewhere in the early 80's. I am not sure of the exact dates due to that was a kind of "hazy" time in my life if you know what I mean. I became the lead man of the layup crew, and was probably the best that Howard ever had I was referred to by my last name - Nieting, and also was nicknamed "Snivel" which is what Howard called me....never knew why.
Anyway, one of the guys that cut the materials for layup had a tendancy to write things on the coremat that went into the deck, up in the front. The only way to see it once the boat was finished was if you got on your back and went into the bow and looked up at the deck. He wrote all kinds of stuff, starting with something like "what are you looking up here for" all the way to the use of the profane. It seems there were also smiley faces, and peace signs and the like. I think there was even a naked lady or two.
Do you have any secret messages? Look at the boats built in the early 80's maybe till about '85.

Re: Hidden Messages in HydroStreams
Welcome to the forum!
Maybe someone here has something in theirs but I know I don't in my 77 unless someone put it under the floation foam under the deck.
Nice little tidbit of hydrostream info there. Maybe someone can chime in and post there findings.

Re: Hidden Messages in HydroStreams
I didn't see any under my deck when I was recoring. I spent a while on my back up there, so, plenty of profanity under the deck, but none of it written! It's a 74 before you worked there. I did find initials signed on the seat bottom wood for the back to back seats. I had to replace two of them but I preserved the other two and clear coated over the signed initials, can't remember what the initials were and the boat is in storage. I thought I should preserve the work of who ever signed. It would be cool to find out who it was.

Re: Hidden Messages in HydroStreams
Nothing up there on my 86YT seen while installing the stereo or rewiring the lights. May now I'll take the seats out and squeeze my big *** back under there just to look harder. Wait I think I did see a naked girl under there once, but alcohol was involved so that might not count.
