Where to find crome parts for Valero YT Bowrider

Post: # 4915Post JAMMICHIGAN »

My 1988 Valero YT Bowrider has been used in salt water for most of it's existance and the crome on the boat is shot and has to be replaced. I'd like to replace it with original parts if possible. I need bow and stern light bases, stanchions and end caps and finally the HydraStream logos that go on the outside sterm port and starboard.

I also need new black windshield stanchions.

Thanks,
Joe

The light bases should be a standard atwood or some other brand that can be bought at any dealer, I'm not sure about the end caps but I know your best bet is to have your original Hydrostream logo's recromed because there are very hard to find in any condition.

Oh ya Welcome to the forum, lets see some pictures.

Thanks for the suggestions. My biggest concerns are the stanchions holding up the handrail. I'd like us the same holes and have the same stanchions. I was afraid that it would be hard to find the HydraStream crome logos. Both of my glovebox logos are in perfect condition, so I might be able to have someone make new ones. It does seem crazy because someone must have already gone through the process.

Thanks for welcome to forum. I'll put some pictures up soon. Should take it out next weekend and take some digital shots.

Thanks again,
Joe

Welcome aboard

Bow hand rails are common stainless either attwood or taco or perko
Taco supply has some nice pieces , the railing is just cut stainless tubing

I have seen a few of these where people have just filled in the holes and removed all the rails for a sleeker look

about the only thing ya can't get are the logos

we need pics

Thanks for suggestions. I'll search their site tonight and see what I can find. I'm going to have scan a couple of pictures in because the boat is sitting at the boat yard and I don't expect to take it out until this weekend. I regret to say the bottom was painted by the original owner. I'm going to look into having the paint removed and paint the bottom white.

Nice looking boat. You take care of it well. You're boat looks a lot like mine except for the color. Mine is red/white/blue. I had the interior done 12 years ago by a really good shop.

Thanks again for your help.

I'm originally from St. Clair Shores. Will be up in Michigan in August, October and November. Still have family in McComb, Shelby and Chesterfield Twp.
