1973 Ventura questions

Post: # 14930Post soloyosh »

Hi there,

First post. I've been reading a lot on here.

My friend had a 1973 Hydorstream Ventura donated. He offered to sell the whole kit and kiboodle to me for $1500.

It runs. Looks to be an old Suzuki outboard from the shape of the cover, not sure of the horsepower (cover painted to match the boat).

I plan on poking around to assess the condition. Assuming the core has been replaced, it sounds like $1500 is more than fair.

If it hasnt had a core replacement, what's it worth?

Cheers

Sharp looking boat.

I think they key would be to find out if it has been replaced and how well it was accomplished. If not, you would need to assume that it needed it (it then becomes a donor hull). Look also at the condition of the trailer and what it might be worth as well as the engine.

The trailer seems to be in really nice shape.

I might take it out this next week for a test spin.

Can anyone recommend a Hydrostream specialist in Havasu? (Long shot I know.) Would like to have someone that knows what to look for have a peek at it.

Cheers

Unusual find

Fact of the matter is: no one can give you a believable guarentee the core is ok unless they have documented it.
Otherwise, after you buy, you can remove some floor and tell for sure.

Best of luck :boating:
