I'm looking for feedback. Is a 25 inch, 1999 Optimax 200 too tall for a Hydrostream Vulture?

If your going to set it up for any speed, you will need a lot of set back, and typically the more set back, the more the engine can be raised. So, you will need to jack it an additional five inches, also, keeping the center of gravity low is preferable. Is it to tall? Well, you can make it work, but a 20 inch is what the boat was designed for.

I don't know. I saved the pic from the web when it was for sale years ago. Nice one though.

The Vulture will like a lot of set back! I have a 10" jackplate for mine and you DO NOT want a 25" mid. You're going to want a 20". If you can score a 15" (16" if its an OMC) then go for that too but no longer than a 20" mid. A 25" will bury the motor way to deep.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated. I'll wait to get a 20''. Is there a recommended jack plate for the Vulture application? I'm thinking of going hydraulic. Any suggestions would be great.
