Re: 200 merc black max
I have a 175 Black Max that had same problem, water was flowing and everthing seemed ok. Buzzer would not stop though. Added second low water bypass hose...turned out to be freakin' thermo on back, replaced in 5 min
A "quick and dirty way?" Run her hard for a bit, then feel surface of heads. Should be really warm but not hot (can keep your hand on it.) Hope that helps...I'm not the expert here, so wait for confirmation...but it worked for me

Re: 200 merc black max
Hmm...probably not issue at all, but replace water pump impeller if you haven't yet. They don't last very long on Mercs it seems...lifetime of OMC's, my first Merc. Also, give the flywheel a turn in the middle of winter...extends impeller life.
Before expensive suggestions, pull the stats back out and really clean port (electrical contact cleaner.) Water is fairly warm up there too..."lose" popit for diagnostic purposes. I just took mine out, but I'm a 'bit further south.
Just got back last week from sail out of Buzzard Bay. Kinda your area I think?
Guys on here will steer you right...Congrats on saving and enjoying a Hydro
