Hi Guys(and Gals) I'm Mike from South Jersey.
Fell in love with vipers as a kid and have recently been watching for one.
Stumbled across a Viking close by and couldn't pass it up. So my 1st Stream is a 79' viking with a 79' Mercury 200.
Motor is on a transom plate with no set back and prop shaft about an inch below pad with a 24p big ear chopper. Standard water pick up on lower.
Over winter probably do the Bob's nose cone and low water pick up and a jack plate.
Plan for this year is to build a fuel tank and rear bench seat and run it.
Hope to learn a lot from here and from trial and error. Hopefully less from error! lol
Wondering how to post images or maybe change your avatar or maybe something else?

Re: New to the Stream family
Welcome and congrats on the new Stream! Unless you documentation of a full rebuild, I would be more concerned about replacing the core, stringers, transom, and floor before anything. That plate on the transom is almost always a bandaid for a rotten transom.
Check out the rebuild/resto section here and you will see lots of great info on rebuilding these things and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
